Allen Martin, 82, of Murphy, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Richardson, Texas.  Allen was born on February 15, 1935 in Wylie, Texas to his late parents, William Carter Martin and Gracie Mae (Taylor) Martin.

Allen grew up in Wylie and was a graduate of Wylie High School.  After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korea Conflict as an airplane mechanic.  Allen married Shirley Ann Walker on April 11, 1958 in Wylie, Texas.  Allen worked for the Corp of Engineers where he was an Assistant Project Manager.  He was a member of the Murphy Road Baptist Church in Murphy, Texas.

Allen is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Martin of Murphy, Texas;  his children; Jacqueline Renee Elom of Corsicana, Texas and Heydon Martin and wife, Crystal of Allen, Texas , 5 grandchildren, Christina McGrath and husband, Max; Justin Garnett, Josh Garnett, Mikayla, and  Lillian; 3 great grandchildren, Zac, Ethan, and Heaven; brother, Mickey Glenn Martin and wife Linda of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Dolores June Nash and husband Norm of Wylie, Texas and Joyce Gail Martin of Wylie, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; David Walker, Norman and Ann Walker, Don L. Miller and Joe Walker.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Allen's life will be held at the Murphy Road Baptist Church on Saturday, September 30 9:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at the Kreymer Cemetery in Wylie, Texas.
