Amy McMillian Boyd departed this world unexpectedly on December 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of selfless love, generous spirit, and compassion for all beings. Known to put others' needs ahead of her own, Amy devoted herself to her husband, friends, and family. While she was a gifted bookkeeper professionally, her true calling was in spoiling dogs, whether they belonged to her or not. Born in Dallas, Texas, on March 7, 1975, Amy developed a love for nature and animals during childhood years living with doting grandparents, "Daddy Mac" and "Mama Kay" McMillian. Amy's fondness for their influence remained evident in her collection of owl-themed art pieces, crosses, and a presence of live plants and flowers in all spaces she occupied. She took pride in making her home feel alive with color and beauty. Amy was also the recipient of Mama Kay's "cooking gene." Amy's mastery of family recipes dazzled the older generation while simultaneously frustrating others who attempted such culinary feats with less success. As the family refrain went, "Amy's just so GOOD!" As a proud Texan with a heart as big as her home state, Amy found her counterpart in fellow big-hearted proud Texan, Roger L. Boyd, III. During their almost 28-year marriage, Amy tumed houses into homes in every city Roger's career brought them to, from Georgia to Arizona. Curated with care and an abundance of family pictures, Amy's aesthetic reflected a deep love of the people in her life, as well as a reverence for the place she would always call home. Amy remained a Texas girl at heart regardless of where she was living, as evidenced by everything from her cowboy boot garden flags to her unmistakable Texas accent. Amy connected easily with people over her encyclopedic knowledge of music, often stumping friends on artists, songs, or lyrics. She loved a good living room dance party, and her bubbly laugh was always the perfect accompaniment to the ever-growing playlist she kept for these cherished get-togethers. Funny in the most unexpected ways, Amy did her part to keep the long-running family joke about "someone burning the fence going. Just like her father Larry, she always had Texan expressions at the ready. In the right circumstance, she could just make a face that would buckle you in laughter without her having to say a word. Much laughter was centered around her beloved dogs, of which there were several over the years. Hers was a heart that welcomed pups big and small, eaming her the nickname "Fairy Dogmother" among friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by her mother, Jennifer Caron Gerber (née Brookshire), Amy is survived by husband Roger; father Larry McMillian; sister Amber Flores (partner Juan, children Nicolas, Alexis, and Cruz); brother Scott McMillian (wife Melissa, daughters Charlotte and Claire); and sisters-in-law Kelly Miles (husband Frankie, daughter Brittany, granddaughter Baylor) and Cynda Culpepper (daughter Lacy, granddaughter Kinley, sons Brock and Blake). Memorial services will be held in Texas and Arizona for friends and family wishing to celebrate the life of our beautiful Amy.
