Amy Montoya, beloved sister and daughter, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14th. A celebration of life will be held Friday afternoon, February 17, 2023, at Su Presencia Church, Garland TX.

Amy was born May 31, 2001 in Dallas, Texas to Silvia Garcia and Francisco Montoya. As the princess of the family, everyone took care of Amy— in return she gave the deepest and most loyal of loves. To her, family was everything. She fiercely loved her mom and dad. Even at 21, she would still offer to make them dinner, tell them goodnight, and force them to make room for her in their bed. She was the first one to celebrate her sisters, Ana and Ayline when they got new jobs, new homes, birthdays — anything. She wanted everyone to feel seen and loved. She had a way of making even the hardest days better. It was easy for her to make people smile and to bring out the silliness in others. She had the most contagious laugh and was the goofiest person in the room.

We are all stronger for having known Amy because she was the strongest — literally. She had a passion for health and working out and dreamed of sharing that passion with others. Because of her passion to be the best her that she could be (her goal for 2023), she was able to save the lives of three others on National Organ Donor Day.

Amy was set to graduate from Veterinary Tech School May 2024. Her love for people, for animals, and for nature had no end— and she loved no animal more than her beloved Ally. She, along with her family, was proud that she had found something that she truly loved to do. The Collin County Veterinary Tech School will be setting up a scholarship in Amy's name.

Amy had a child-like faith. It is a blessing for her family to know their beautiful daughter, Amy Jimena Montoya, is resting in the sweet arms of Jesus.  Amy is survived by her parents, Francisco and Silvia; her sisters, Ana and Ayline; and her special dog, Ally. She is also survived by her close family, tia Mirna Garcia, tia Alejandra and Valentin, tia Claudia and Josafat Ramos, cousins Rachel, Michelle, and Benji; along with many other family members and friends.

In lieu of floral gifts, memorials may be given to Dallas Animal Services.
