Anita Maxene Ford Lemons went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2024, in Wylie, TX. Anita was born in Allen, TX on February 20, 1932, to James Shelby Ford and Alma Lou Young Ford. She graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1947. Anita spent many years working for Johnstons in Wylie, TX as a seamstress. On Sundays, you could find her in the nursery at First Baptist Church Wylie where she was a member for a majority of her life. Anita was a devoted mother and Mamaw/Nana. She was a talented seamstress and cook. Her favorite past time was completing crosswords, especially from the Sunday paper. Her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Anita will be dearly missed by many.

Anita is survived by her daughters, Neta Kay Shellnut and husband, Jack of Edgewood, TX, Brenda Burroughs of The Woodlands, TX, Cheryl Deaton and Tommie Sue Lemons of Wylie, TX, granddaughters, Misty Shellnut and husband, Jason of Edgewood, TX and Morgan Krasniqi and husband, Veton of Wylie, great grandchildren Masen, Cloie, Keaton, Greer, Claire, and Ford. Anita is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents James Shelby and Alma Ford, sisters Dolores Williams and Reta Allen, and grandson Reggie Kyle Onstot.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2024 at 2:00 PM followed by a service to celebrate her life at 3:00 PM.
