Barbara Barnett Obituary

Barbara Barnett of Wylie, Texas, born May of 1945 passed from the living Wed, Sept 27, 2023, at the age of 78.  She was a highly intelligent and well-read woman, who was known for her generosity, competitiveness and independent spirit.

Barbara is survived by her husband (of 59 years) Jerry, daughter Karen, and grandchildren Delinda, Jeremy, Cassandra, and John.  She is also survived by 5 siblings, Lela Butler, Ronny White, Alan White (wife Patty) Paul White (wife Glenda), Charlotte Johnson, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother Steve White and 2 great-grandchildren.

Barbara attended school in her home town of Van, Texas. She furthered her education at community colleges and finished with her bachelor degree at UTD, while working full time and raising a family.  Working at various companies in accounting before joining NTMWD, she eventually retired as accounting supervisor.

Barbara had various hobbies including gardening, road trips, photography, reading, number and word puzzles and actively participating in political and social causes. She especially enjoyed beating her husband at Wordle.

There will be no funeral.  To honor her memory, there will be a Celebration of Barbara's Life held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that in her memory a kindness for someone in need be done.

Barbara will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

May she rest in God's loving hands.
