Barbara Carol Brown, 77, of Wylie passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 in Plano, Texas.  Barbara was born in Laotto Township, Indiana on Wednesday, January 14, 1942.  Her parents were the late Homer Ditmars Schenk and Ruby Geraldine (Gump) Schenk. Barbara grew up in Laotto and married Kenneth Earl Brown on July 29, 1961 at the Church of the Brethren in Laotta.  They moved to Texas where she worked for Alcatel as an office manager until her retirement.  She was a member of the First Christian Church of Wylie.

Surviving Barbara is her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Earl Brown; children Stanley Brown and wife, Christine Nelson; Charlene Scrimshire and husband, Travis; brothers, Wyman Schenk and Roger Schenk and sister, Irma Pensinger and her two granddaughters, Alexandria Miller and husband Brandon and Ashley Robertson.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gerald Schenk.

Visitation is scheduled at the First Christian Church on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. also at the First Christian Church.

Barbara's ashes will be interred in the Columbarium at the DFW Nationals Cemetery, July 2, 2019 at 1:00 P.M
