Betty Jean Maynard, 88, long time resident of Wylie passed away at her home on Monday, April 29, 2019. Betty was born in Lavon on Tuesday, September 2, 1930.  Her parents are the late Robbie Cryer and Jessie (Gracey) Cryer.  Betty grew up in Wylie and graduated from Wylie High School,  the Class of 1949.  After graduating Betty married the love of her life, Thomas Lloyd Maynard. They married in Wylie on September 2, 1949. Betty and Thomas made their home in Wylie and raised their family here. Betty worked for Texas Power and Light Company as a bill collector.  Betty was a member of the Cross County Baptist Church.  Betty was active in her church until her health prevented it.

Surviving Betty are her 3 children, Eddie Lloyd Maynard and wife Kim of Mesquite, Pam Jean Wolverton of Wylie and Kim Touchstone and husband Rickey of Farmersville; brother Jerry Cryer and wife Frances of Mineola and 4 grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas, grandson Jason Wolverton and her brother Benny Cryer.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home.  Betty's funeral service will be on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Robert Kreymer will officiate.  After the services Betty will be laid to rest next to Thomas at the Thompson Cemetery.
