Bonnie Dee Romero

Bonnie, also known as Mama and Granny, was born on May 13, 1954 to Thelma Mae Doyle and Sherwood Penn Mason in Dallas, Texas. She gained her wings on December 04, 2021 where she was surrounded by her husband and six children, as well as many other family members.

Bonnie met the love of her life, Benet Romero, when she was only 15. They were married a year later on April 17, 1970 in Wylie, TX and together raised their children, Lisa, Mary Jane, Benet, Heather, Tiffany and Sonny. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Early in their marriage, Bonnie was a seamstress and over the years. spent most of her spare time behind the sewing machine. From making Sunday dresses for her daughters as they were little girls, to prom dresses when they were in high school; with drill team outfits in between. From baby blankets to door wreaths; Bonnie loved giving handmade items as gifts and left behind many memories that will be cherished in the years to come.

Bonnie was one of a kind and had the most loving heart. She always had a house full, and everyone who was there felt her love. Once you entered her home you were family. Bonnie became known as Granny in 1992 and has spent the last 29 years of her life making sure that all of her grandchildren were loved unconditionally.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Benet Romero Jr.; Children: Lisa Ann Romero, Mary Jane Romero (Blake), Benet Romero III (Renee), Heather Michelle Ware (Leroy), Tiffany Gayle Runsewe (Victor), and Sonny Romero (Stephanie); Grandchildren: Matthew, Rebecca, Andrew, Benet, Brennan, Reagan, Tevin, Lauren, Amiya, Aaliyah, Dallas, Natalie, Rocky and Paisley; Great-Grandchildren: Madilynn, Jaxon and Caden; Siblings: Betty Jo Kitchens and Brandon Mason.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, December 12 at 2:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home. 508 Masters Ave  Wylie, TX  75098 with Scott Galyon officiating.
