Bryan Wesley Davis, 82, of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was surrounded by family, including Trena Davis, his loving wife of 61 years.

Bryan was born in Gilmer, Texas on February 3, 1942 to Alton and Opal Davis. He was the youngest of their six children. He was raised in the Baptist faith, and knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended school at East Mountain School where he played football and baseball, and served as the football captain. While at East Mountain, he met Trena Howard, the woman who would become the love of his life.

After high school graduation, Bryan attended Kilgore College from 1960-62 where he earned an associate's degree in machine shop. He married Trena Howard on June 30, 1962 and they moved to Plano, Texas, where they eventually adopted their daughter Jodie in 1966. As a man of varied interests, he served on the Board at Community Credit Union for several years in the 1970's. Bryan was the shop foreman at US Brass where he worked for 40 years until he retired in 2002.

Bryan was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who loved spending time at his and Trena's former lake house in Quitman, Texas. His 4th of July cookouts at the lake were the hub of many years of happiness for family and friends. Though the lake house was sold in 1988, this holiday tradition continued because he enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by loved ones. He also enjoyed woodworking and clock-making, and he could turn almost any raw material he got his hands on into beautiful art.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, Kayla and Bryan. He spent three decades teaching them the same lessons of love, kindness, and patience that he gave to his daughter Jodie, which was perhaps his greatest legacy. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Opal Davis; his siblings Frayne Derrell Davis, Johnny Davis, Leon Davis, Betty Bowden, and Anne Billingsley, all originally of Gilmer, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Trena Davis, daughter Jodie Davis, grandchildren Kayla and Bryan Dittman, brother-in-law Jack Weatherby, sisters-in-law Beverly Weatherby and Joyce Howard, many nieces and nephews, and a host of wonderful, loving friends.
