Calvin Fast of Farmersville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2016, peacefully and surrounded by his family.  Calvin was born May 6, 1926 in Corn, Oklahoma to the late John Peter and Tina (Siemens) Fast.

During World War II, Calvin joined the United States Army.  He trained as a medical technician.  Calvin served overseas where he performed various emergency medical duties and prepared the wounded for evacuation from the war front.  Calvin received his Honorable Discharge on October 13, 1946.  After returning home from the service he settled in Wylie where he met the love of his life, Fannie Mae Frederick.  They were married on March 17, 1947 in Wylie.

Calvin worked for Kraft Foods in the receiving department. He retired from Kraft Foods in 1984.  Calvin was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church and a member of the American Legion.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Fannie Fast of Farmersville.   Also surviving Calvin is son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deanna Blake; his five grandchildren, Ryan Blake and wife, Marcy; Dillon Blake and wife, Maria; Nathan Blake; Morgan Johnson and husband, Derek; and Amy Fast; his 5 great grandchildren, Lincoln Blake, Sutton Blake , Gracyn Blake, Emsley Johnson and Keaton Johnson.   Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tina Fast, his two children, Arthur Fast and Glenda Fast Blake and one granddaughter, Krista Fast.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, in Wylie, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Allen Funeral Home Chapel, in Wylie.  Brother Lakey will be officiating.  Calvin will be buried at Ridgeview Memorial Park in McKinney.
