Carolyn May Putnam Ellis went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2023.  Carolyn was born October 23, 1938 in Utica, New York to her parents Waldo Everrett Putnam and Irene Ernestine White Putnam. She was baptized April 7, 1950 in Waterville, Maine.  She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Ellis of Wylie, Texas in 2012.  They were married on May 31, 1981 in Wylie, Texas.  She is survived by her three sons Brian (Teresa) Voth of Frisco, Texas, Benjamin (Kelli) Voth of Rowlett, Texas and Bruce (Laura) Voth of Elkton, Kentucky; grandchildren Rebecca (Matthew Dillon), Sarah, Anna, Bailey, Brett, Connor and Emily; and great grandson John. She had two step children (Bobby Glenn Ellis and Jeannie Smith) and step grandchildren (Jacinda, Justina, Jamie and Brandon).

Carolyn attended high school in Astoria, Oregon and graduated in 1956.  She graduated from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington in 1960.  She was a gate attendant for the Army Corp of Engineers primarily working at Lake Lavon from 1999 to 2008. Carolyn enjoyed camping and serving others. She worked as a cafeteria worker in the public schools of Richardson ISD and Wylie ISD, and was a store manager in Princeton, Texas.  As an adopted child herself, she adopted two sons and also cared for a number of foster children. She spent much of her life actively doing crochet and making various craft gifts for others.

A memorial service will be held at at Allen Funeral Home, 508 Masters Avenue, Wylie, Texas on Saturday August 5 at 2pm.
