Carolyn Gay Spencer Reed, 82, of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2025. Born on February 22, 1943, in Houston, Texas, Carolyn lived a life full of warmth, friendship, and purpose. She was the devoted wife of Harry Dan Reed, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, building a beautiful life together since their wedding on September 17, 1962, in Marble Falls, Texas.

Carolyn's love for animals shaped her life and career. She owned and operated Snoopy's Corner, a beloved grooming and boarding kennel, and dedicated many years to showing poodles—proudly raising more than 20 AKC champions. She was an active member of the Poodle Club of America and the Lone Star Poodle Club. Carolyn's passion extended beyond the ring; she was an animal lover through and through.

Known for her welcoming smile and open heart, Carolyn was everybody's friend. She deeply loved spending time with her children and cherished every moment with her granddaughter, Kylie. She was always enjoying life, whether it was by the pool she adored or around the table with her treasured Friday night dining club. A talented musician, she studied music at the University of Texas at Austin. She was also a member of The Heights Church in Richardson, where she reaffirmed her faith through rebaptism on June 26, 2022.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Dan Reed; her children, Susan (Bill) Crawford of Columbia, TN, Kimberly Reed (Tracy Tyner) of Flower Mound, TX, and Spencer Reed (Corina Calvert) of Rowlett, TX; and her beloved granddaughter, Kylie Crawford (Matthew McDonell) of Melbourne, FL. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, William Floyd Spencer and Texana Dyer.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28th at The Heights Church (201 W Renner Rd, Richardson, TX 75080). Carolyn will be remembered as a devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished friend, and true animal lover. Her light, laughter, and love will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing her.
