Charlene Elizabeth Bishop, 95, of Rockwall went home to her Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.  Charlene was born in the small west Texas town of Gilliland on Saturday, January 3, 1926.  Charlene's late parents were Willie Lee and Cora Ann (Richardson) Stone.  Growing up during that time Charlene learned the lessons of hard work and depending on family.  She married Charles Garland Bishop on February 19, 1943 in Hallettsville, Texas. She was a homemaker and mother. Charlene was a member of First Baptist - Wylie.

Surviving Charlene are her children, Diane Blackford and husband Doug, Kenneth Bishop, Dennis Bishop and wife Shannon; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Joe Kowal, Lanna Dodd, Nathalie and Ryan Moore, Kristin and Jason Yager, Ross Bishop, Brooke and Anthony Connell, Brian Minshew, Sherilyn Blackford, Steven Blackford and Madilyn Blackford; 6 great grandchildren, Ashley Dodd, Brody Kowal, Avary Yager, Marshall Yager, Colton Connell and Brett Connell;brother, George Stone and wife Ellen and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ross Bishop, Brian Minshew, Steven Blackford, Jason Yager, Anthony Connell, Jay Stone, Byron Stone and Brent Bradshaw.

Charlene was preceded in death by parents Willie Lee and Cora Stone, husband Charles Bishop, brothers Roy Stone, Clarence Stone and Clyde Stone; and sister Dorothy Spence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist - Rockwall on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.  Charlene will be laid to rest in the Robstown Memorial Park in Robstown, Texas on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 3:00 P.M.
