Charles Manly Finch, 77, a resident of Sachse, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Charlie was born July 4, 1943 in Amarillo, Texas and attended Classen High School in Oklahoma City and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. He served in the Air Force from 1964 through 1968 and married Nancy on February 16, 1980. They lived in New Braunfels and Garland, Texas, before eventually relocating to Sachse to fulfill his lifelong dream of living on a golf course!

Charlie worked in human resource management with a construction materials company, retiring at age 50 to spend more time with his sons. He loved sports, played soccer, tennis and golf, and coached many youth teams – particularly baseball. Charlie and Nancy were very active in their local church – teaching Sunday School and participating in numerous youth groups and events over the years. Charlie absolutely loved to travel and spend time with friends and family, especially his two granddaughters.

He is survived by Nancy Finch, his wife of 41 years, and two children: Steven Finch and Scott Finch, and Scott's wife Christiana. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Liliana and London Finch, his brothers John and Dean Finch, and his sisters Angela Johnson and Jan Finch. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manly and Betty Finch, and his brother, Raymond Finch.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 2 ^nd at 10am at First Baptist Wylie. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a gift to your favorite church or charity in his memory. The family will be supporting UT Southwestern Medical Center to fund pulmonary hypertension research ( https://engage.utsouthwestern.edu ) and Hope for the Cities, a community food ministry of First Baptist Wylie ( www.hope4tc.org ).

The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at Medical City Plano, the CHF Clinic, and UT Southwestern for their compassionate and competent care for Charlie and the family during multiple hospital stays and numerous doctor visits, as well as our friends and family that have loved us all so well.
