Charles Michael Taylor was born to Charles and Bettye Taylor at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas on January 24, 1951. He grew up in Wylie, Texas and graduated from Community High School in 1969.  On July 1, 1972 he married the love of his life, Cathy June Ryan at the Wylie Church of Christ. His beloved daughter Natalie was welcomed on July 25, 1976. Mike worked as an auto technician at Sears for 21 years. During that tenure he was selected to be the voice of the Sears automotive national radio advertisements. In 1994 Mike went to work for the Collin County Sheriff's department under the direction of Sherriff Terry Box. During his 21 years at the Sheriff's office Mike earned many accolades including Employee of the Year in 2011. Mike has been an active member of the Farmersville Church of Christ for 31 years where he has enjoyed serving as a Deacon for the last 25 years. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, hiking and bird watching, but most of all he loved fishing. Mike was a devoted fly fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed yearly pilgrimages to fish the Roaring River in Cassville, Missouri. Mike was also an auto racing and car enthusiast and was involved as a dirt track driver and spectator. In the past seven years, Mike and Cathy traveled extensively and had an especially fun trip attending the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 auto race. Mike was a voracious reader and always enjoyed learning new things. He was a talented artist and particularly skilled in oil painting and pencil sketching. A die-hard Cowboy fan Mike loved attending games as a kid at the Cotton Bowl. Mike was an animal lover and he enjoyed time with his cats and dogs. In 2022 Mike and Cathy celebrated 50 years of marriage.  Mike was a loving, loyal and adoring husband and father and a faithful servant.  To know Mike was to love him, he will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Bettye Taylor and sister Celeta Edwards.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Taylor, daughter Natalie Taylor Cross and son in law Scott Cross.  Beloved brothers-in-law Ronny Edwards, Robert Yeager, Steve Caldwell and Paul Boorman. Sisters-in-law Becky Yeager, Carol Caldwell and Sandra Boorman. Nephews Keith Edwards, Russell Jones, Rusty Caldwell, Ryan Yeager, Andrew Medlock, Brent Caldwell, and Byron Owens. Nieces Kim Edwards, Lisa Jones, Emily Medlock, Abby Owens, Melissa Yeager, and Melissa Marie Yeager. Great nephews Josh Edwards, Taylor Jones, Sam Medlock and Hunter Yeager. Great nieces Camille Edwards, Tori Jones, McKenzie Yeager, Hallie Caldwell, Lyla Caldwell and Amelia Medlock.
