CODY ALAN BLACK

Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Cody A. Black, passed away peacefully in his home at age 36 on May 10, 2024. He was born on January 14, 1988 to Jeff & Kim (Lynn) Black in Mesquite, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Wylie, Texas.
Cody loved the Lord with all his heart and would joyfully share the Gospel with anyone who would listen. He also loved and adored his mama. He enjoyed making people smile. He will be remembered for always having an eagerness in his heart to help others, being a very intent listener, and showing compassion toward others. He had a heart of gold. He always saw the best in others. He knew no stranger and gave the best hugs.
Cody will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and anyone who knew him. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He wanted every person he encountered to know he thought highly of them and to show he cared.
Cody is preceded in death by his grandparents Dayton Black, Elloria Humpries, and Kenneth Lynn; as well as his uncles Kenny Lynn and David Black; and his cousin Christopher Baum.
He is survived by his parents Jeff and Kim Black; his brothers Brad Wortham (Caryssa) & Dusty Black (Melody); his nephews Nathan Wortham, and Jacob & Caleb Lucas; his niece Emma Black; and special friend Shasta Martinez. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles including Cindy Baker (Moline, IL), Bonnie Lazenby (Sadler, TX), Connie Sutton (Prague, OK), Stormy Aymelek (Dallas, TX), Dixie Hoppes (Fort Worth, TX), Dawne Forrest (Platter, OK), and his grandmother Regina Seale (Ada, OK), as well as cousins and friends.
Pallbearers include Brad Wortham, Dusty Black, Nathan Wortham, Pasa Aymelek, Steven Alvizo, and Blake Acri.
Family & friend night will be held at the Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, Texas, on Friday, May 17th , 2024 from 6-8 pm. All are welcome to attend this event.
Services will be held at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, Texas, on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11 a.m.
