Daniel Austin Rushing, 93 of Wylie Texas passed away peacefully in his home on October 5, 2023,
with family by his bedside. He was born in Ft. Myers Florida, June 12, 1930. He joined the Marines
at age 17, a Veteran of the Korean War. After the military, he married and started his first HVAC
company in Tamarac, Florida. In 1985, he moved his family and his business to Wylie, Texas serving
Wylie and surrounding communities. He was loved by so many. He enjoyed making copper art,
fishing/hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Mathew Rushing, Creasie Lewis, his wife Sue Rushing
of 52 years, and two brothers Gene Rushing and Maurice Rushing. He is survived by his children Brenda
Slayton (James Slayton), Debra Martin, Judith Figuly (Bob Figuly), Craig Rushing, 11 grandchildren, and 25
great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held in Wylie, Texas for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that in his
memory a kindness for someone in need be done
