David Eugene Cunningham, 58 years young, passed suddenly in the early hours of February 2, 2026, into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a beloved husband, father, Papa, son-in-law and brother.

David is survived by his loving wife Lisa Kay, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children: Victoria Le Blanc (husband Donald), Kelsea Kent (husband Kyler), Brandon Cunningham (wife Shaylah), and Andrew Cunningham (wife Ainsley). He was also the proud Papa of Kannon Cunningham and eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first grand-daughter, Sutton Kent, in May.

David is also survived by siblings Patti Zellmer (Jud), Karen Orr (Alan), Michael Malone (Sheila), and Brian Cunningham. He is also survived by his in-laws, Roger and Kay Lowe, and brothers-in-law Greg (Brenda) and James (Vicki), and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father, Richard Cunningham and mother, Wanda George, as well as his brother, Rick Malone.

David was a long-time employee at Winzer Corporation. He was also active in Wylie Youth Soccer for many years, coaching countless children in skills as well as sportsmanship. He and Lisa attended Lakepointe Church for many years and he was looking forward to watching both his boys be baptized this spring.

David was a quiet and unassuming man. Standing 6'7" tall, one could easily be intimidated by his size, until he smiled, cracked a joke and enveloped you in his signature bear hug.

The family wishes to thank the first responders from the Wylie Police Department and Wylie Fire Department, for their efforts and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 6, 2026 at The Cross Church, 100 N. First St. Wylie TX 75098. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 5th between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at Allen Funeral Home, 508 Masters Ave., Wylie, Texas 75098. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in David's memory to a favorite charity. Organizations close to our heart include the Humane Society of North Texas, Wylie Animal Shelter, and Wounded Warrior Project.
