David Ray Hamby was born December 4, 1969, in Dallas, Texas. He passed away July 7, 2024, in Kaufman, Texas. David enjoyed playing guitar, working out, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a certified diesel mechanic and worked for the city of Dallas the last several years. David recently completed CDL school and was scheduled to test for his CDL license.  David had an infectious smile, laugh, and was a joy to everyone he encountered. His passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his grandmother, Mildred McMahon; mother, Barbara Allen; brothers, Larry Hamby, Brad Allen and wife Brenda "Lee", and Lane Allen; sister, Lark Needham; daughter, Shanell Reed and husband Russell; grandsons, Preston and Peyton Reed; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and NA family.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin McMahon; father, Truett Hamby; and stepfather, Don Allen.
