Dawson Eugene Conover, 16, of Nevada, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2020. Born on November 7, 2003, in Garland, Texas, Dawson lived and loved with his whole heart, his warm and ever-present smile serving as his trademark.

A passionate athlete, he was described by coaches and teammates alike as committed, hard-working, eager to learn, and full of grit and determination. On the field, "#20" displayed the true Warrior Spirit that undoubtedly makes Choctaw ancestors proud.

Dawson was a member of the Community High School Class of 2022. His teachers and classmates, past and present, recall an "amazing" young man, always respectful and helpful. Whenever making an appearance at a homecoming dance, he was certain to be dressed to the nines and sporting a fedora, another of his trademarks.

He is survived by his proud and loving parents David and Crystal Conover of Nevada, Texas; grandmothers Nancy Conover of San Antonio, Texas, and Nita Reynolds of Murphy, Texas; siblings Micheal Balsley of Mesquite, Texas, Trevar Balsley of Mesquite, Texas, Devon Conover of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Raven Conover of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lacie Conover of Nevada, Texas; uncles Nick Ardese of Colbert, Oklahoma, Darryl (Jennifer) Conover of Huntington Beach, California, and Dale Conover San Antonio, Texas; aunt Channa (Cody) Boatman of Greenville, TX; and a multitude of loving cousins, friends, and teammates.

Pallbearers are Xander Kelley, Trip Hargrove, Walker Weger, Micheal Balsley, Trevar Balsley, and Devon Conover.

Dawson will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. An entire community is grateful to the Lord for having graced us with his presence, even if just for a while. Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, TX. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Wylie Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Lavon.

Due to COVID-19 it is requested masks be worn in the building.
