Debra Kay Johnson, 69, of Wylie, Texas passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly, on December 18, 2022.

Debra was born on December 17, 1953 to Edith Ellen Vance Johnson and Clyde Wallis Johnson in Provo, Utah. Debra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Debra and her family lived in Washington state and eventually moved to Visalia, California where she graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1972.  She went on to study Elementary Education at Brigham Young University-Hawaii Campus.

In 2003, Debra moved to Plano, Texas and began teaching at Memorial Elementary School. Although she enjoyed working with young children, she felt drawn to transfer to Plano East Senior High and work as a special education instructor.

In 2016, Debra had a stroke, while driving her vehicle, and ended up having to retire from teaching.

Debra was predeceased in death by her father, Clyde Johnson. She is survived by her mother, Edith Johnson, her brothers, Garth (Janel), Michael (Joyce), and Douglas (Margaret) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 400 Sanden Blvd., Wylie, Texas 75098, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 with a viewing at 10:00am and the funeral at 11:00am.
