Obituary – Dorota Palmer

Dorota (Krolikowska) Palmer went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2022, after a battle with cancer.  Dorota was born in central rural Poland on November 3, 1960. Those were the "grey" years of Communist rule. But her life changed with time, and became quite "colorful". Her childhood was very safe and happy and family oriented. The youngest of three sisters, she was never going to be left behind. She always felt older than her peers wanting to follow in the steps of her older sisters, Lunia and Danka. In school she excelled – finishing as the top student in her class. Early on, she discovered an ability towards foreign languages – especially Russian. English language came much later. Thanks to "Russian language competitions", she was accepted to the prestigious Jagellonian University in Krakow, Poland. That year, 1977, all three sisters – Lunia, Danka and Dorota – were enrolled in universities. During their studies, Dorota and Danka got involved in a Christian student movement, influenced by Campus Crusade for Christ missionaries. That is where the Lord Jesus significantly changed their lives. By the end of her studies, Dorota decided to become a missionary. For several years, she served the Lord with students in Poland. It was later, after the fall of Communism that opportunities opened up to serving the Lord in Russia. She first packed up and moved to St Petersburg in 1994, and later on to faraway Samara, and then eventually to the capitol city of Moscow. She lived in Russia for over 12 years, and then new changes came when she met the love of her life – Jack Palmer from Texas.

Jack and Dorota began an email correspondence in 2005, which quickly developed into a growing relationship as they discovered much overlap in their lives, such as the same favorite Bible passages and enjoying the same publications.  But most of all was their mutual love for and commitment to serving the Lord Jesus Christ.  Their love for one another blossomed and they were married at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Wylie, Texas on December 16, 2006.  They set up housekeeping in nearby Royce City.  Before long, Dorota encouraged Jack to develop his love of photography into a business.  She played a vital role in that enterprise, learning the technical skill of photo editing and many other ways to partner with Jack in the business.

Along with Jack, Dorota was an active and beloved member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.  Her love for Christ and tender care for others endeared her to all who knew her.   Her biblical worldview along with her life experience and fruitful ministry gave her unique and helpful perspectives when interacting with other church members.  Her cheerful countenance will be greatly missed.

Dorota touched many people in many places through her service to Christ by serving others.  She will be missed by all, but those who share her faith in Christ are comforted by the assured hope of seeing her again in His eternal kingdom.
