Dorothy Ruth Clemmons Strickland-Nelson,  Was born on Mar. 1, 1929 in Kaufman County and passed away on Dec. 19, 2024 in Wylie, TX.  She is preceded in death by her two husbands, Willie Dee Strickland that passed away in June of 1995 and Gerald Nelson that passed away on January of 2004.  She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Flo Putman, Buddy Clemmons and Russell Clemmons.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Betty Sue Rhodes (Nick), Carolyn Dee Tarvin (Bill), Wanda Ann Burnett (Rick), grandchildren; Jeff Rhodes, Michael Tarvin (Kim), Cari Clay (Tim), Lindsey Wright (Aaron) and Beau Burnett (Stephanie).  Great grandchildren; Jarod Stigall, Morgan Clay, Haley Newton (Doug) and Marshall Burnett; great great grandchildren; Liam Clay and Baker Newton; sister, Margie Rowell, brother, Jarrell Clemmons and Wayne Clemmons; numerous nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends.
