Edith Ellen Vance Johnson, age 99, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, in Allen, Texas. Born on January 20, 1926, in Delta, Colorado, Edith lived a life marked by devotion to faith, family, and service.

Edith was the daughter of John Vance and Etta Huffman and was the youngest of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, five sisters, her beloved husband Clyde Johnson, her daughter Debra and grandson David. Her long life was enriched by the deep bonds she shared with her family and her unwavering commitment to her beliefs.

Edith is lovingly remembered by her sons: Garth and his wife Janel; Michael and his wife Joyce; Douglas and his wife Margaret; 13 grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Her legacy continues through these generations who carry forward the values she held dear.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Edith found great joy in serving others through various church callings. She served faithfully in a stake mission and later embarked on two full-time missions alongside her husband Clyde. Their first mission took them to Singapore, where they also spent time in Sri Lanka and India. Their second mission led them to Hong Kong, with much of their service centered in Macau, China. These experiences were deeply meaningful to Edith and reflected her lifelong dedication to sharing her faith and service to others.

Edith viewed mortality as a joyful opportunity to be with family—a perspective that guided how she lived each day. She looked forward with hope to a glorious reunion with loved ones who had gone before.
