Edwin Micheal Nemer was called to join his bride, Beverly Nemer on March 25, 2025. He is known as Ed or Eddie, or as he always said, you can call me anything, just don't call me late for dinner.

Ed was born to Fred and Clarabelle Nemer in Dallas, South Dakota on August 18, 1942. On his 21st birthday, he married the love of his life, Beverly Gay Brekenfeld, on August 18, 1963. A few years after having their first son, Stewart Thomas in 1965, they made their way to Texas, following family and for Ed to take a job at Texas Instruments. In 1969 on Easter weekend, they moved to their home in Wylie, Texas, and a few months later had their second son, Rodney William. They would remain in their Wylie home, raise their boys, and immerse into the community they loved.

After his time at TI, Ed managed Johnny's Auto Parts Store, worked at Hoffards Processing Plant, and a UPS warehouse, before beginning a long career at the North Texas Municipal Water District, where he retired. After retirement, Ed enjoyed the cherished role of Grandpa, also known as Grampy. Bev and Ed were blessed with eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bev and Ed were known around town as they had a standing date night every Friday at the Wylie Chili's where they socialized for many years. Later, as the town grew around them, they found a new special spot closer to home at Napoli's, where they would spend every Wednesday and Friday night with friends and family. They made life-long friends at both places with the staff and patrons. So much so, that when Chili's remodeled, Bev and Ed were gifted the mosaic tile table that they sat at each week. At their new spot, when Bev needed a place to hang her purse, Ed suggested purse hooks and to this day, there are purse hooks at the bar and bar-top tables at Napoli's.  Ed was always sure to let every new patron know about the purse hooks…but we all know that was just an opportunity to meet a new friend and flirt with the ladies.

Ed continued going to Napoli's after Bev passed, every Wednesday and Friday at their same table, often joined by family and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his only sibling, Darlene Quillen. and his parents. His sons, Stewart and his wife Lisa; and Rodney and his wife Aimee; will forever be blessed by his life along with their children and grandchildren, Jaimen Podowski and his children Bryson and Penelope; Austin and Susie Podowski and their children Presley and Parker; Rachel and Austin Fullen and their children Cameran and Hayes; Holley Nemer and her children Kieran Standoak and Collin Nemer; Connor Nemer; Darby and Michael Kirton; and Sawyer and Daley Nemer. We know that all of Ed's extended family including his best Nebraska cousins were impacted by his charm, jokes, and love, and will join us in keeping his spirit in our hearts.

April 11th, 2023, we lost Bev Nemer. It's no mistake that we chose this day to memorialize Ed Nemer and celebrate his reunion with his bride. What a joyous reunion that must have been. Dad, Grandpa, Grampy, Ed, and Eddie, we love you and you will not be called late for dinner.
