Ervel Quinn went to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 19, 2022, after a three-year battle with cancer.  Ervel was born in Odessa, Texas on February 26, 1950.  He graduated from Odessa High School in 1968, and attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville.  He was very active at Cottonwood Church of Christ and was the primary song leader for several years.  He enjoyed teaching singing and working with young people. He was a wonderful husband, father, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ervel had a very varied career stretching over 35 years and included working on helicopters, working for an electrical power company, owning a furniture manufacturing company, working in sales, owning a filter business, director of retail merchandising and real estate sales. Ervel enjoyed golfing, watching football and baseball, cheering for the Mavericks and singing in barbershop quartets.

Ervel is survived by his spouse, Janita "Susie" Quinn of 35 years, his children: Johna Rippy Hodges, Amy Quinn Leonard, Jason Rippy, and Jason Quinn. Grandchildren: Zachary Garza, Morgan Hodges, Royce Hodges, Kyla Leonard, Katie Leonard, Halah Berglin, and Kaeda Quinn and great-grandson Koda Garza.  And his sister, Dana Quinn Hounshell (Spouse Gary Hounshell), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Mary Quinn and granddaughter Summer Quinn.

Visitation will be at the Allen Funeral Home at 508 Masters Avenue in Wylie, Texas 75098 on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 6 pm until 8 pm.  Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Cottonwood Church of Christ, 2633 Elm Grove Road, Rowlett, Texas 75088 at 10 am.  Graveside services will follow at 4 pm at the Alameda Cemetery on FM 571 in Eastland County, Texas.
