Philip Moralez, 76, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2025, after suffering a stroke. He was born on December 5, 1948, to Frank and Lupe Moralez in Rosebud, Texas. His family moved to Petersburg, Texas, in 1955. He remained there through his childhood. In 1968 he moved to Dallas after graduating high school. He began his career at Texas Instruments.

At age 20, Phil was drafted to the military. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. He served in the Vietnam War from 1969 -1970. He earned medals for National Defense Service, Vietnam Service with 2 bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Combat Infantryman badge, Army Commendation medal, and a Bronze Star medal.

After serving in the military, Phil returned to work for Texas Instruments. While working he also went to college, graduating from the University of North Texas. He built a career with Texas Instruments that spanned over 30 years.

Phil was the only boy of four siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lupe Moralez, and his sister Margaret Arebelo. Phil has two surviving sisters Suzie Marquez and her husband Jessie and Mary Garcia all from Petersburg, Texas, with their many children and grandchildren.

He is also survived by his children, Brian Moralez and Ashley Reyes, and five grandchildren. Brian and his wife Veronica have three children — Lexie, Sophia, and Cruze. Ashley has two children — Laila and Christian, alongside her partner Josh Lartz. Each of them carries forward a piece of his spirit, strength, and enduring love. He is also survived by his longtime partner, Linda Kerr, with whom he shared many years of companionship.

Phil was a man of strong opinions and an even stronger will. He had a passion for all things sports and watched them year round. He also enjoyed reading the newspaper religiously and never met a puzzle he couldn't solve. He was known for his tough demeanor and didn't sugarcoat things, but those who knew him understood that underneath he cared deeply in his own way. Phil lived a full life marked by service, dedication, and a sharp mind.

A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on July 31, 2025 at 10:30 AM.Phil will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, in honor of his military service.
