Garland Wayne "Bob" Hogg died peacefully on September 23, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 26, 1930, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Robert and Ila Hogg, he was the second of four boys. His life was defined by the immense love and provision he offered his family in a christian home.

Bob was born in Monroe, Louisiana but grew up primarily in South Louisiana, East Texas, and Southern Illinois, where he developed a love for fishing and learned about the oilfield industry working alongside his father. He attended two years of college in Tyler, Texas. While home from college in the summer of 1950 in Albion, Illinois, he met the love of his life, Erma Jean Taylor. They were married on June 1, 1951, in Burnt Prairie, Illinois, beginning a devoted union that lasted 66 years.

In 1956, Bob began his lifelong career with NL Baroid starting out as a mud (drilling fluids) engineer and eventually working his way into operations management over a four state region. His career took the family across the country, from Texas to Mississippi to Louisiana and back to Texas, before he retired from Baroid in Farmington, New Mexico.

Bob and Jean's love created a large, joyous family that was their greatest pride. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling the U.S. in their motorhome with friends before deciding to settle in Wylie, Texas, where they hosted legendary family gatherings filled with cards, music, good food, laughter, and love.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ila; his brothers, Donnie, George & Gary; his beloved wife, Jean; his oldest daughter and her husband, Carol & Bill Mazilly; and his beloved dog, Puffy.

He is survived by his son, Ray Hogg (and wife Karen); his daughters, Donna Garcia and Carla Lindberg (and husband Mark); eight grandchildren (Chad Mazilly, Casie Moen, Tori Paternoster, Kimberly Cresson, Deanna Garcia, Kaylie Moncada, Brianna Hogg, and Derek Garcia), along with seven great-grandchildren.
