Gregory Lee Culbertson, 69, passed away on April 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Greg was born on August 24, 1956, in Logan, Ohio, to Gerald and Wilma Culbertson. He was the youngest of four, growing up alongside Sandy, Curt "Buck," and Ken. Greg was a natural athlete and went on to play college basketball at Wilmington College.

After college, Greg moved to the Dallas area and shortly thereafter began a career with EDS. That decision shaped the rest of his life. It's where he built lifelong friendships, the kind that turn into family, and where he met the love of his life, Lynda.

Greg and Lynda were married in Hawaii on July 17, 1990, and built a life centered on family. Together they raised Mackey, Brady, and Cori, creating a close-knit foundation that remained the center of everything Greg did. One of the greatest joys of his life was being a grandfather to his five grandkids.

Greg was funny. Quick-witted, sharp, and always ready with a story or one of his one-liners. If you spent any time with him, you probably heard the same story more than once, and you probably didn't mind.

He had a magnetic spirit, and people felt drawn to him immediately. Those connections ran deep. In his final months, that became unmistakably clear in the number of people who reached out, showed up, and surrounded him and his family with support. It is a reflection of how many lives he touched and how deeply he was loved.

He was a teacher, not in a professional sense, but in the way people learned from him. Whether it was advice, perspective, or simply how to treat others, Greg left people better than he found them. He filled a father role for many others, not just his own kids. He showed up, gave advice, checked in, and stayed consistent.

Greg loved music, art, sports, and cheering on the Cowboys, both Dallas and Oklahoma State. He was also steadfast in his faith. Just two weeks ago, over Easter weekend, he was baptized again at home surrounded by family, a moment that meant a great deal to him.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda; his children, Mackey and his wife Tanner, Brady and his wife Kendall, and Cori; honorary son Kurt Hoffman and family; and his five grandkids, Brooks, Quinn, Sophie, Ily, and Kopelyn. He also leaves behind a long list of extended family and friends who are considered family.

Greg will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, and the way he made people feel. His impact lives on in the family he built and the many lives he shaped along the way.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, May 2.
