Don Henry, 71, of Rowlett went home to the Lord on Wednesday May 24, 2023 in Rowlett.  Don was born on Tuesday July 31, 1951 in Paris, Texas. His parents are the late Grover Gene Henry and Helen (Brooks) Rogers.  Don grew up in the Wylie area.  After graduating from school he met the love of his life, Linda Rushing.  They were married in Garland on November 27, 1968 and they spent 54 loving years together as they raised their two children.

Don worked as a die and tool maker in Garland.  Don and Linda loved to camp and would take the kids on a camping spree. Besides camping with the family he liked to fish, hunt, wood working, watching car racing, but most of all he loved being with his family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.

Don left behind his wife, Linda of Rowlett; children and their spouses, Carrie and Joey Land of Van Alstyne and Donald and Rebecca Henry of Garland; brother Danny Henry of Ben Wheeler; sisters and their spouses, Charlotte and Freddy Shepard of Ben Wheeler, Tenna and Billy Tompkins also of Ben Wheeler. His 4 grandchildren, Michael Don Smith, Mary Beth Smith, Brooklin Ramsay and Mason Ramsay; 3 great grandchildren, Michael Carter Smith, Avery Lynn Smith and Athena Esperanza Smith-Padron as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 26, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Allen Funeral Home.  His funeral services is on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. also at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. A.L. Draper officiating. Don will be laid to rest at Thompson Cemetery.
