Henry Alanis Martinez, a longtime resident of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on
Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the age of 97.
Henry was born on July 13, 1928, in Seagoville, Texas, to Aurelia C. Martinez and Josefina Alanis
Martinez. A man of strong values and quiet dedication, Henry worked hard throughout his life to provide
for his family and to establish a lasting legacy rooted in love, integrity, and devotion.
On December 10, 1949, Henry married the love of his life, Elida Fuentes, also a longtime resident of
Wylie. They shared an extraordinary 75 years of marriage, marked by deep commitment and enduring
partnership, until her passing in June 2025. Together, they built a close-knit family and a home filled with
love.
Henry loved his wife and family immensely and was deeply proud of them. His life was defined by faith,
perseverance, and an unwavering sense of responsibility to those he loved.
Henry is survived by his sons, Mark Martinez and Robert Martinez; his daughter, Ann Price, and her
husband, James; all of Wylie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and
three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings; his beloved wife, Elida Martinez; his sons
Eugene Martinez, Ronald Martinez, and Ernest Martinez; and twin sons Henry Martinez and Jesus
Martinez, who died at birth.
Henry Alanis Martinez will be remembered for the strength of his character, his lifelong devotion to
family, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Visitation and Rosary will be held at St Anthony Catholic Church on Thursday, January 8, 2026.  Viewing
will be from 6:00-8:00 pm and Rosary will begin at 7:00.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Anthony Catholic Church on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm
with Father Tony Desmore officiating. Henry will be laid to rest in St Paul Cemetery.
