Ila "Louise" Max, age 88, passed away on Saturday, May 16th, 2020 at Garnet Hill Rehabilitation and Skilled Care in Wylie, TX.

Louise served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1950's and was stationed in Washington D.C.; until she married Edward Albert William Max Jr.  After her discharge from the Navy, she traveled and supported Ed in his naval career.  Their son Edward was born in Newfoundland, daughter Michelene at Portsmouth Naval base, and son Michael on Midway Island.  After returning to the mainland while Ed served in Viet Nam, she dedicated her time to working as a legal secretary in Brownsville, TX, before retiring in Dallas, TX to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She faithfully served at the same company as an Executive Assistance for over 40 years.  She loved her bible study group at First Baptist church.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents John and Mabel Carter, her brother Robert Carter, her husband Edward, her son Edward Albert William Max III, and her granddaughter Ava Max. She is survived by her son Michael Aaron Max, her daughter Michelene Louise Cleary, her grandchildren Nicholas Patrick Cleary Jr., Christina Ann Cleary, and Rachael Lauren Cleary.

Louise will be remembered for her love of mystery and the sweeter things in life. She will be missed by many. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Garnet Hill for their dedicated service during these last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Code of Vets in Louise's name.

The family intends to bury her in the fall with her husband at the military cemetery in DFW, where they can be recognized together with full honors for their service.
