Irene Ann Collatz, October 5, 1929 – January 10, 2023, passed on Tuesday January 10, 2023, in Rockwall, Texas at the age of 93 years. She was at home with her loving family at the time of death. Irene was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her husband Fredrick Collatz preceded her in death in the year 2000. Her parents Efim and Marie Olenik preceded her in death as well as her sisters Helen Olenik, Margaret Pospisil and Marie Gyselinck.Her oldest daughter Carol Carlos of Austin, Texas preceded her in death in the year 2000.

Irene is survived by her daughter Jo Ann Keyes of Rockwall, Texas; granddaughter Angelic Hickman of Sachse, Texas; granddaughter Ann Verkaik of Spring, Texas; granddaughter Christina Keyes of Rockwall, Texas; great grandchildren Drew Aghedo, Jeremiah Sailsman, Taylor Hickman, Houston Hickman, Lyric Johnson, Kinslee Major and great-great grandson Sebastian Aghedo.

Irene retired from Sears in Calumet City, Illinois in March of 1992 where she worked for over 20 years in the catalog department filling the customers' orders for pickup. She and Fred moved from Dolton, Illinois to Beverly Hills, Florida in 1993 where they enjoyed the sunshine, beaches and made new friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She loved all her grandchildren and enjoyed having them close to her. Irene loved bingo, gardening, raffles, coffee, and cookies and going to church. She was a great talker and a great listener. She made friends easily everywhere she went.

A grave site service will be held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois. Irene will be buried next to her husband Fredrick Collatz. A date has not been set at this time.
