Jackie Steve Mote was born in Wilbarger County, Texas, on December 23, 1934, to Oscar M. Mote and Lois Essie Mote.   He was a graduate of Harrold High School and in 1963 a graduate of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.   He married Shirley Ann Ross in 1960.  They have resided in Wylie since 1964 after moving here for his first job after finishing college at the North Texas Municipal Water District.  He was a veteran having served honorably for two years in the United States Army.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Marla Coker, and husband Terry of Fort Worth; son, Steve Mote, Jr., and wife Casey of Houston; 3 grandchildren, Stormy Johnson, Maison Mote, and Canon Mote; sisters Mrs. Jimmie Lemon of Harrold, Texas, and Mrs. Joyce Gilbert of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.   Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation preceding at 10:00 a.m. at Draper Chapel located in the First Baptist Church of Wylie.  Officiating will be Dr. A.L Draper and Dr. Derek Draper.  Burial will be Wednesday, November 20 ^th at 1:00 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
