Jacqueline "Jackie" Sue Evans Grotheer, born on January 26, 1947, in Hillsboro, KS was sent to her eternal home on November 19, 2025, in Wylie, TX. She was the beloved mother of Tammy Wood and Kim Moore.

Jackie, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember Jackie not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jackie is survived by her loving children, Tammy Wood, and Kimberly and Curtis Moore along with her brothers Larry Evans, Max Rector, and her sister Debbie Bailey. Jackie was the beloved grandmother of Nikki, Jarred, Suzanna, and Rebecca. She was the proud great-grandmother of William, Mackenzie, Bella, Milani, Gabby, and Lucas. She had favoritism towards her granddog "Tank" and grandkitty Tiggy who she always called "Baby".

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Evans, and Dorothy and Gene Rector, her youngest sister, Cindy Hill, and her first-born grandchild Brandon Moore.

After her graduation from Wichita High School South in Wichita, KS, Jackie moved to California and was married. They later moved to Tulsa, OK and had two daughters Tammy Wood of Henderson, NV and Kim Moore of Wylie, TX. Once her girls were grown, she earned her AAS degree from Rogers State University in 1989. She relocated to Texas to be near her daughters and grandchildren, who all held a very special place in her heart. She remained in Texas where she was employed with several different companies over the years. Her love for Christ was obvious, and she loved connecting with everyone she met and sharing God's word with them. It was hard for her to go anywhere without seeing someone she knew or making a new friend.

Jackie's passions included family, hunting with her grandpa, cooking, photography, engaging in her Sunday school class, and singing in the choir at church to name a few.  Her personality was big, and her heart was huge.  The community of friends she had at Parkview described her as sweet, compassionate, kind, caring, funny, uplifting, and encouraging.  Whatever you needed, she was willing to help with.

One of the last hunting trips she went on was with her grandpa aka Pop when he was 97 years old!  She loved to share her memories of her times with her Pop and Grandma and that is where the seed of salvation was planted and she learned to love others deeply and passionately.  These traits were then reinforced by her mother who also touched numerous lives.

She loved cooking and canning for her family.  She had a large garden, and many summers were spent gardening, making pickles and canning fresh vegetables.

She absolutely loved photography and covered many engagements, weddings and other life events.

One of her favorite things was Elvis, Elvis, Elvis (did we mention Elvis?) She grew up in an era where ladies were infatuated with Elvis and she was definitely one of them.  She was able to go see him twice in concert and she had collected all kinds of Elvis memorabilia.  Once she moved into the retirement community, they had an Elvis performer and of course, who was up front….Jackie!

Jackie was a member at Stonebriar Church and was involved in the choir.  She loved singing and praising God through song.  She also loved her Sunday School class and enjoyed doing their monthly newsletter.

Those who knew Jackie will remember her for her infectious smile, overwhelming laughter, sense of humor, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

‍Although Jackie's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As you continue to worship Jesus up there, dear Jackie, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Jacueline Grotheer will be held on November 29, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Parkview Retirement Community 1451 S Greenville Ave. Allen, TX 75002.
