James McCarty Clayton, Jr, Age 75 of Wylie TX passed away on May 31, 2020.   Jim, or Jimmy to his family, was born June 9, 1944 in Bay City, TX to James McCarty Clayton, Sr and Corine Mackey Clayton.   He grew up in West Columbia, TX with his parents and his sisters Carol Ann and Kay Cheri.  He attended Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, TX.   Jim served honorably in the United States Navy.  During the Vietnam war, he was stationed in Guam and served as a Communications Corpsman where he worked on computers that filled the entire room.

When Jim returned from Guam, he trained for and began working as an electrician for the light company in Sweeny, TX.  Several years later, He moved to Wyoming to be close to his daughter Ashley Claire Clayton and in his new career became an accomplished salesman in the wholesale electrical industry.

Jim loved the Beatles, he had a quirky sense of humor, and the best laugh.  He was loved by many and will be missed.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James McCarty Clayton, Sr and Corine Mackey Clayton, his sisters Carol Ann Hodges and Kay Cheri Hudgens, and his second wife Sheila Nottingham Clayton.

He is survived by his daughter Ashley Claire Clayton and nieces and nephews in Texas and Georgia.
