James Brock Hoover (affectionately known by family and friends as Rusty or PawPaw), 73, died peacefully in his sleep on October 13, 2019. He had struggled with wear and illness after a very fruitful life and is now at rest. As a father of two he leaves his loving family; daughters Lori Phan and Tracy Mann and their children:grandsons Brandon Brock 22 and Joshua Nathan Lee 20 and six granddaughters, Miranda Chaienne 22, Siona Leigh 13, Catherine Cozette 13, Elleandra Hayden 10, Samantha Jayden 5 and Penelope Dylilah4. JB was also blessed with two great granddaughters Lilliana Renae Grace 2 and Adilynn Riley Nicole 3 weeks.

James Brock is also survived by his brother, John Temple Hoover and many loving cousins and friends in Ozona, Texas.

James Brock was born in San Angelo, Texas and lived the majority of his childhood with his family in Ozona. He enlisted in the Army in 1965 and served as Military Police and in the reserves until 1971. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1968. James Brock started his career in the oil field after leaving the Army. He worked for Halliburton and several other oil companies across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi until he retired in 1998.

James Brock spent the first of his retirement years in San Angelo searching for hidden treasure and creating works of art from wood.  He lived there with his wife, BJ Hoover, until she passed. He then moved to Northeast Texas to spend the rest of his days near to his grandbabies in Sachse, Texas. James Brock changed the designs of his wood work from chairs, tables and stools and began to cut and decorate cartoon characters to entertain his grandchildren. He passed only three months after his son-in-law of 15 years died.

James Brock was a dedicated family man with a great sense of humor who will be forever loved and missed by many.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 17 ^th at 10:30am at DFW National Cemetery.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 19 ^th starting at 11:00am at the Church of Christ in Ozona in Ozona, Texas with a potluck to follow.
