Jerry Harris Carmichael, 84, of Wylie, Texas, passed away suddenly on August 10, 2023. Jerry was born to William Harris Carmichael and Mary Lois White Carmichael on November 23, 1938 in Brownfield, Texas. Jerry grew up in Wellman Texas and was salutatorian of his high school graduating class. He went on to graduate from the University of Texas in Austin.

Jerry worked as a computer software developer which took him to many places worldwide and he had a lifelong interest in learning. He got the honor of receiving multiple patents in his lifetime. Jerry was recognized in the Who's Who of the South and Southwest, was a 32-degree Mason, and a Duplicate Bridge Master.

Jerry married Anna Jean Parker, in Brownfield Texas on June 9, 1962, and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. Together they raised 3 children.

Jerry and his family moved to Wylie Texas in 1996 where they were heavily involved in many organizations as well as their church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Amelia Liddell, and his brother Alton Carmichael.

Jerry is survived by his wife, his daughter Angela Carmichael, his son Jeffrey Carmichael (Annie) and his son Joseph Carmichael (Amber); his 6 grandchildren Ian, Katherine, Meghan (Will), Chance (Eryn), Sarah, and Sadie. He is also survived by his brother Danny (Kita), his sisters-in-law, Neysa, Debbie, and Lisa as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at GSUMC, Lucas, Texas on Saturday, August 26th starting at 1:30 pm with fellowship in the Fellowships Hall, followed by the service at 2:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
