Jerry "Polly" Coats Garner passed  away at her residence in McKinney on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the age of 86.  Polly was born on Monday, October 15, 1934 in Plano, Texas.  Her parents are the late J. P. and Margaret (Collingsworth) Coats.  Polly grew up in Plano and graduated from Plano High School in 1952. After graduation Polly went to work in Dallas as a Human Resources Manager.  She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Plano.

Polly is survived by her nephew King Nelson and his wife Pam and her niece Claudia Nelson.  She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews.  Polly was preceded in death by J.P. and Margaret Coats, her husband Emmit Garner, her sister Margie Nelson and her nephew Jerry Roe Nelson.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Plano Mutual Cemetery with Dr. A. L. Draper officiating.
