Jerry Lee Hargrave was born on April 19, 1937 in Greenville, Texas to his late parents, Lee Roy Hargrave and Della Louise Myre Hargrave.  Jerry graduated from Farmersville, High School.  He married Margie Beth White on June 1, 1957 in Josephine, Texas.  Together they raised their three sons:  Richard Russ, David Dan and Jerry Joseph.

Jerry received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Henderson State College, a Master of Theology and also a Doctorate in Philosophy from Mid-America Theological Seminary.   He was ordained into the ministry by First Baptist Church of Josephine, Texas on August 22, 1965.  Jerry was active in ministry until he went to heaven to be with Jesus, serving as interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Hope Arkansas at the time of his death.  Throughout his pastorate, he ministered in several churches in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri.

He and Margie founded Hargrave Home Repair in 1986 and also served as missionaries in Mexico for several years.

Jerry's beloved wife, Margie passed away in 2010.  He married Brenda Fincher Ratton on March 26, 2011.  They enjoyed six years of marriage and resided in Hope, Arkansas until the Lord called him home.

Jerry is remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and as a man who served and sought the Lord with his whole heart.  His greatest desire was always that those he met would come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Hargrave; sons: Richard Russ Hargrave (Linda), David Dan Hargrave (Jill), Jerry Joseph Hargrave (Mendy) and a dear friend he referred to as his adopted daughter, Paula Rice;  step children:  Becki Smith and Brent Ratton (Jo); grandchildren:  Seth Aaron Hargrave (Diana), Micah Lee Hargrave (Ryan), Stewart David Hargrave, Austin Lee Hargrave (Danielle), Ashley Denise Hargrave, Kylie Kristen Hargrave, Hunter James Vance, Garrett Travis Vance, and Carter Christian Hargrave;  step grandchildren:  Brock Ratton (Emilee), Ainslee Lee (Brian), Branson Smith, Kolton Kidd, Shea Ratton Ratliff (Forrest), and Dustin Ratton;  great grandchildren:  Landyn Lee Hargrave, Grace Riley Hargrave and Rhett Wilder Hargrave; step great grandchildren:  Bryson Lee and Addison Ratton;  Sisters in law:  Lois Hargrave and Frances White and many other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Della Hargrave; his first wife, Margie Beth Hargrave; brothers Richard Myre Hargrave and James Roy Hargrave and infant twin sisters, Patsy Ruth and Patsy Ann Hargrave.

Visitation is Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, Texas.

Funeral service is Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Wylie.  Elders Dan Truitt and Justin Wheeler will officiate.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Hope, Arkansas.

Jerry will be buried at Nevada Cemetery.
