Jerry Ross Hutchison, 78, of Wylie, Texas passed away at 6pm on November 13, 2025, surrounded by his wife and daughters.

Born May 14, 1947, in Terrell, Texas, Jerry was raised in Rockwall on a horse ranch, where he developed his love for horses. He attended Rockwall High School where he proudly played football for the Yellowjackets. To earn extra money as a teenager, he would plow the fields which would later become Lake Ray Hubbard.

Jerry honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Kennedy on its maiden voyage to the Mediterranean Sea in 1969. He was also a member of the James V. Callan Masonic Lodge #1422 for over 50 years.

After completing his military service, Jerry dedicated three decades as a respected truck driver with Central Freight Lines, retiring in 2009.

Jerry was married for 54 years to his beautiful bride, Shirley, who he would affectionately call "Shirley girl".

Jerry will be deeply missed by his family. His legacy continues through his devoted wife, Shirley, and their three daughters: Evangeline Brown and husband Dale of Plano; Jennifer Staten and husband Ashley of Wylie; and Sara Correa and husband Adrian of Wylie.

He was a cherished grandpa to his six grandchildren, Parker Hutchison and wife Mary; Mason, Jackson and Addison Correa; and Grace and Ava Staten; and a great grandpa to Nora, Jude, and Conley Hutchison.

Jerry was passionate about American history and enjoyed taking his wife and three daughters to visit Civil War sites.  A family vacation was never complete without stopping to explore a historical marker along the way. Jerry and Shirley embraced the open road, traveling the United States in their 5th wheel and creating many cherished memories during their retirement.

Jerry also leaves behind many family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

His Celebration of Life will be held on November 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM

A private interment will be held at the Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
