Joe C. Landers, 89, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on February 9, 2022. Mr Landers was a Christian who was saved in 1944 at First Baptist Church in Wylie, Texas. Joe was born in Wylie on January 20, 1933. He graduated from Wylie High School in 1949 as the salutatorian of his class and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1960 with an electrical engineering degree. Mr. Landers retired in 1995 after 34 years with NASA in Huntsville. He worked on the SATURN Moon Rocket program with the original German Rocket Team headed by Dr. Werner Von Braun.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Tamara Landers; daughter Kathy Brantley; stepdaughter, Toni Key; grandchildren, Christopher Schuster, Cecil Joe Smith, and Faith Harbin; great grandchildren, Kailynn Kilpark, Joseph Hanrion, Aydin Smith, Harlow Smith and Phynix Smith; step grandchildren, Franklin, Shane, and Taylor Key; and brother-in-law, Don Jarman, his wife Joan and their children, Don and Troy Jarman and nieces, Linda Norwood, Joyce Jenkins, and Loyce Anderson and their families. He was preceded in death by daughter, Martha Schuster; and sister Mary Gibson.

Visitation is Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. A. L. Draper officiating. Interment will follow at Wylie Cemetery.
