John Noel (Buddy) Gothard, age 85, passed away on March 14, 2024.  John was born in Ben Wheeler, Texas to Nolan Taylor Gothard and Lula Pearl (McLemee) Gothard on March 11, 1939.  John is survived by his Wife Elaine (Lasiter) Gothard.  Children; Cheryl (Gothard) Rogers and husband Jerry, Michael Gothard and wife Susan.  Brother Bobby Gothard and wife Beverly, Sister Wanda Fox and husband Rick.

Grandkids; Nicole (Burks) Robertson and husband Brent, Nicholas Burks, Brady Gothard and wife Kristen, Trenton Gothard, Aryn (Bounds) Earnhart and husband Clint, Great-Grandkids; Carson Robertson, Maverick Robertson, Matthew Bounds and Evan Earnhart.  John was preceded in death by his wife Maurine (Redd) Gothard, his parents, 2 brothers and 6 sisters, and stepson Darren Lasiter.  He retired from a long career at National Oil Well in Garland, TX.  He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and gardening in Canton, TX.  John was a Faithful Christian of the Baptist Faith.  He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Wylie.  John also served in the US Army.
