John George Hawkes, Jr., 51, of Wylie passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 30, 2018.  He was born on Sunday, April 23, 1967 to John George Hawkes, Sr. and Anna Marie Organski Hawkes in Fort Huachuca, Arizona.  John married Janet Sue Browning on April 9, 1988. He worked for the City of Plano as a heavy equipment operator.  John was a member of the Gateway Community Church in Wylie.

John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet Hawkes, sons, Johnathon Dale Hawkes and wife, Natali, Markus Gene Hawkes, Zachary George Hawkes, two granddaughters, Stacie Elizabeth and Ella Jean Hawkes, his parents, Anna Organski and John G. Hawkes Sr., and his four sisters, Sheila Frei, Carmen Schreffler, Anna Marie Fischer and Joanne Crouthamel.

A memorial service for John is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Gateway Community Church, 2201 Country Club Road, Wylie, Texas 75098.  Dr. Blake Switzer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Gateway Community Church's widow's fund
