On January 9th, Joyce Marie Rice, beloved wife and mother, went home to be with The Lord. She was 68 years old. Born to Delanoy Roode and Ethel Mae Carpenter in San Bernardino, California, she went to Fontana High School. In 1976 she made Texas her home, living in the Plano/Wylie area. She worked for Country Wide/Bank of America for 20 plus years.

On December 18th, 1980, she married the love of her life David Lynn Rice. They met at Chapman's Restaurant and were married for 43 years until her passing.

Her favorite color was yellow, so there is no surprise her favorite flower was the yellow rose. Joyce liked to collect anything with a pig on it. She had blankets, cookware, clothing, nicknacks, etc; all displaying a pig. Joyce loved to fish and go to the casinos in her spare time.

Joyce is survived by her husband David, Sister Alma, her three children Marcel, Michael, and Martin. She also has 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 cousin, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Gateway Community Church in Wylie on Sunday, January 15th at 3pm.
