June Miller

1929-2026

The world has lost a gentle, kind, loving and patient soul. June Miller died peacefully in her sleep on Feb. 7, 2026, in Wylie, Texas, at the age of 96. She was born July 21, 1929, in Kirklin, Indiana, to John and Anna Mae (Clark) Farmer. June had a happy childhood as the baby of the family, growing up in Williamsport under the watchful eye of her doting sister Emma Mae and her mischievous brother Bob. She recalled her father taking her to ballgames and her mother hosting birthday parties for her nearly every year. June was her middle name, but she declared around fifth grade that's how she would be known.

She moved with her parents to Indianapolis while still a school girl. Her brother later fibbed about her age when he introduced her to his buddy Wilbur Lee Miller. Despite her mother's worries, they married Sept. 21, 1946. Their family grew with the birth of children Linda and Ed over the next five years.

June had dropped out of school to marry, but after her kids graduated, she proudly earned her high school diploma through night school. She worked for Dow Chemical and later for the Indianapolis Library. Lee and June lived many places in Indianapolis, Owen County around Patricksburg and later in Florida, but they made every house a home. Together, they square danced and played cards. June crocheted beautifully, journaled and enjoyed reading.

After Lee died in 2001, June's brother made another match. She returned from Florida to Indiana to marry Doug Rush in 2002. They lived near Gosport for three years before his death.

In 2011, June and her daughter moved to Wylie, Texas, to be near son Ed and his family. June and Linda lived together, laughing often and enjoying one another's company dearly.

She's survived by children Linda Miller Clark and Paul Edward Miller (Myra Ferguson Miller); grandchildren Elaine Clark (Darren Day), Jason Clark (Canticle De Rox Clark), Brandon Miller (Amber Miller) and Stacie Noble (Chad Noble); great grandchildren Raya Clark, Justice Clark, Hadlee Mae Noble, Kori Noble, Zane Paul Miller and Landri Noble.

June was the last of her generation in the family and was fully prepared to return to the arms of Jesus.
