Karen Ann Adams of Wylie, Texas died peacefully on November 18, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Rosary will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie, Texas on November 20, 2016 at 7pm.  Funeral Mass will be held on November 21, 2016 at 10am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie, Texas.

Karen was born in Des Moines, Iowa to William G. and Bessie Robinson Lindbeck on November 30, 1944.  She went to high school at East High in Des Moines, Iowa and was a twirler for the band. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Education Degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa; her Gifted and Talented certifcation from St. Thomas College in Houston, Texas; her Masters Degree in Administration from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas.  She was a gifted and talented teacher and consultant for the Clear Creek, Katy, and Cypress-Fairbanks school districts. Karen then went on to be the Director of Advanced Academic Studies for the Richardson School District for 12 years and retired in 2010.  After retirement, Karen and her beloved dog, Abby, became a certified therapy dog team.  They started the Wagin' Tales reading program at the Wylie Library. She later certified Mason and Nico and they enjoyed visiting nursing homes together.  Karen was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie, Texas. Karen enjoyed her family, precious dogs, reading, fishing when they're biting, and walking.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, William G. and Bessie Robinson Lindbeck; two sisters Beverly Lindbeck Griffith and Mary Lindbeck Orr; and daughter Jenny Adams. Karen is survivied by her husband of 53 years, Jim Adams of Wylie, Tx; son Bill and Mandy Adams of Fulshear, Texas; daugther Laura and Chad Tompkins of Andrews, Texas;  and 5 grandchildren Jack, Cole, Evan and Luke Tompkins and Noah Adams. Brother-in-law Jerry Griffith; Nieces Patti and Sandy Griffith; Nephews Doug and Dxie Griffith and Andy and Jessica Orr and many great nephews and nieces.
