On Monday, May 15, 2023, Kathryn Stone Cason,loving mother of six children, passed away in her home at the age of 95. Her death occurred one day after Mother's Day and a week after her 95th birthday.

Kathryn was born on May 7, 1928, in Bruno, Kansas, to John and Hazel Stone. She worked for AT&T as a telephone operator for many years while raising her family.

Kathryn had a passion for quilting with friends and belonged to a quilting club that donated their quilts to newborn babies in hospitals. She loved watching golf and knew the names of most pro golfers. She loved watching horse races and always knew which horse she wanted to win the Kentucky Derby each year. She loved reading and would often read a complete novel in one day. Every day, Kathryn read the Dallas Morning News and worked the crossword puzzles. When she saw something in the newspaper that she felt would interest one of her friends or relatives, she would clip and give to them. The clippings may have been a small comic strip or even a full 2-page article. Kathryn was known for her big heart, her caring ways, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one daughter. She is survived by four sons, Don Miner, Steve Tate, Keith Tate, and Ron Cason, and one daughter, Peggy Turley, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 31 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 508 Masters Avenue, Wylie, Texas, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Following the services, a brief graveside service will be held at Wylie Cemetery located across the street from Allen Funeral Home.
