Kathy first brought joy into the world on September 16, 1953, to her parents, Kenneth Ray, and Eva Rosa Kennedy, when she became their first child. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi. She lived in Houma, Louisiana and Laurel, Mississippi as a child. She graduated from Laurel High School and from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Medical Technology. She worked at hospitals in Gulfport, Mississippi, Chicago, Illinois, Richland Hills, Texas and Dallas, Texas. She left an impression on each of these. She was most proud of her role at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She and Martha Willett served as the only Point of Care Coordinators for the main hospital, the Cancer Center, the Children's House and five senior centers. She provided training, monitored bedside testing and equipment support for all nurses at these facilities for over 30 years.
If you walked through the halls with her, you would never fail to hear the employees greeting her with a smile and told by each one how kind and sweet she was. She retired in February 2016.
Kathy was married to Garland Robert Belote III for 32 years and they had one son Christopher Patrick Belote.
Kathy married Larry Ray Schultz on September 1, 2012, in Rockwall, Texas. Their family included: Son; Chris Belote; Daughters; Audri Burch and Lauren Bell. They had six grandchildren: Lydia Williams, Addison and Aiden Schultz, Ethan and Nathan Bohler and Liam Belote.
Kathy had eight brothers and sisters: Kenneth Ray Kennedy Jr., Charles Keith Kennedy, Karen Miller, James Kennedy, Bonnie Burt, David Kennedy, Pam Casanave and Patti Casteberry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy was a faithful member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, Texas. She was a member of the Tommy Armstrong Life group and sang soprano in the Classic Service Choir.
Kathy was an accomplished equestrian and loved the beach. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and watching movies. She was a talented singer and sang with high school, college, and church choirs.
Kathy went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2025. She is deeply loved and missed by her friends and family.
