Services for Lana Rhodes will be Saturday, February 27th at the Surrey House in McKinney, Texas at 2:00 with Reverend Chris Caldwell officiating.

Lana Joyce Rhodes (Johnson) was born August 26,1946 in McKinney, Texas.  She passed from this world into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2021 in Wylie, Texas.  Life took her many directions, but McKinney was always called home.

Lana is the oldest child of Denver and Margaret Louise Johnson (Marshall).  She was a loving big sister to her younger brothers, Micheal and Gerald Johnson.

The importance of faith, love and family was modeled fervently in Lana's upbringing. One would never know the family wasn't rich, because where money was scarce, love poured with abundance.  Family time centered around the kitchen table, and great love went into each prepared meal.

Raising a family of her own was one of Lana's highest priorities.  She raised three beautiful, hard-working, and loving daughters.  Tracy, Angie and Holly gave Lana another purpose in life along with a new title, Nana.  Along with instilling her girls with the importance of family, Lana taught her girls to see humor in every situation.  When life was difficult, laughter served as a coping mechanism, along with thinking of all the ways things could be worse.

Besides her family, Lana loved Elvis Presley, plants, and dogs.  You'd often find her multitasking.  She'd work on word searches while watching the ID channel, and no day existed without the Young and the Restless.  Lana loved facebook, and as her health declined facebook was a way of being part of everyone's lives.  She loved watching everyone's life on social media.  You'd always find her commenting positively on other's posts.

Lana was a loyal worker and took great pride in doing her job well.  During the latter part of her working life Lana was employed by New Diana Independent School District in the food service department.  She loved seeing the children come through the cafeteria daily.  Lana retired from New Diana in .

Lana is preceded in death by her parents, Denver and Louise Johnson, her husband Charlie, and her beloved Chihuahua, Elvis.

Surviving family members include Lana's brothers:  Gerald Johnson, wife Rhonda and Micheal Johnson.   Her three daughters, Angie Fraser, husband David, of Wylie.  Daughter Tracy Taylor  husband Mike, of Wylie.  Daughter Holly Cooper, husband Tim of Diana.  Grandchildren:  Justin Yarbrough, wife Amanda, Cheyenne Hill, husband Chris, Dylan Fraser, Abigail Fraser, Zachary Taylor, Colby Phillips, and Madison Phillips.  Great grandchildren:  Melody and Rylan Hill, Aubree Jahr, and Briella Yarbrough.

Lana is also survived by loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
